Kjær & Sommerfeldt is Copenhagen’s oldest wine merchant and Royal Court supplier. They have been selling wine since 1875, and in 1928 they moved into the impressive premises at Gammel Mønt 4, which contains more than 1800 different wines, lots of history and passionate people. 

Kjær & Sommerfeldt wanted to give their customers the opportunity to get even closer to the brand, create a close relationship to thier costumers and share all the wine knowledge the house has to provide.

In September 2022, Kjær & Sommerfeldt therefore started streaming live on their own website, and they have since invited customers to live events on a weekly basis. In this way, they enrich their customers by giving them an experience of their fantastic wine universe on their own digital platform.

A unique digital window

In Kjær & Sommerfeldt’s live events, they open a unique digital window to their store, combining knowledge of wine and tastings with a community of engaged wine-loving participants.

The various events last about 50 minutes, giving the hosts lots of time for reflection and great storytelling while allowing customers to easily shop the presented wines during the event.

Great content makes greats results

Liveshopping gives Kjær & Sommerfeldt the opportunity to communicate directly, provide customer service, and sell their products simultaneously. Their live events are divided into categories, and you, as a viewer, can attend a wine school, participate in wine visits abroad and get an insight into the world of Fine Wine.

Kjær & Sommerfeldt have produced 18 events since they started and have managed to retain their viewers for an average of 19 minutes(!). They have also had more than 700 viewers on average per event.

The commitment from the viewers is clearly in the chat: 23% of all viewers interact actively, asking questions and engaging in dialogue with the host and the other fellow viewers.

Building communities

The host, Mads Eklund Hansen, is very happy about the great commitment: "It's so fantastic to feel how people engage with the topics and the events - and they watch them over and over again. We find that our viewers write many relevant questions to us during our events. Our customers also talk about the events when they visit our stores and refer to them in emails to our Customer Service. It is therefore a joy through Lives to create a community around the passion for wine that we have here at Kjær & Sommerfeldt".

Kjær & Sommerfeldt have grand ambitions for their new live shopping universe and have already broadcasted live from France and Germany, allowing their customers to visit wine castles and meet the producers behind the wines. These events also created the opportunity for great photo and video content for their different digital channels. By giving a glimpse of the world inside the company, their customers get closer to the brand, creating even more loyal customers for Kjær & Sommerfeldt.

The Liveshopper platform has all the functionality that makes it possible for viewers to like, chat, shop and revisit events at a later time where the purchase option will still be active.
